Keywords
Keywords are used to search for assets. They are a collection of words and numbers which are tagged to the asset and is used by the search engine. Managing keywords effectively enhances the ability for users to find the right assets they are looking for.
Ingestion
When a file is ingested, keywords are automatically extracted and added to the asset entry. The automated system extracts information based on the file name and various other sources.
Managing Keywords
You can view the keywords in the single asset detail page under the tab "Keywords"
This tab shows a list of all the keywords that are used to search the asset. You can easily remove a keyword simply by selecting it and clicking on "Remove Keyword" button.
A typical image file or movie contains a lot of metadata. TACTIC Project can use a number of metadata parsers to extract data contained with a file.
Any of these can be "upgraded" to a searchable keyword. If the metadata contains many words, then it will be broken into many words. You can then edit the full list of keywords on the Keywords tab.
Keyword Sources
Managing proper keywords is an important component in providing users the ability to find the correct asset. TACTIC allows you control the exact keywords that are used for searching. The keywords are organized in groups that related to where the keyword came from.
.Sources for keyword: * metadata within a file * user entered keywords * collections * a job that create the file
From the keywords panel, specific keywords can be removed if they are not deemed relevant to the search.
